Albany, NY: Johnson Carlson (#36 Vortex) led all drivers as he won the first race of the SCOR season while leading all 60 laps.
“Race went as well as it could. Showing up, getting the pole, leading the whole race… Can’t ask for much more. We gotta keep looking forward though. Simpleton was right there, but it was good to stay up front and avoid the carnage in back. Smooth sailing in the 5th Gear Garage and for our sponsors Vortex and Hardees. On to Bristol for this crew.”

Jamey Simpleton (#2 Valvoline) was right behind Carlson, but just could not takeover the leader. There were many different restarts and crashes which really set the tone for the race. Jeff Downey (#94 John Deere) was right behind the leader at one point after a crash that sent Car Keys Mike (#96 Budweiser) and Jughead Jones (#88 NXT) to the garage for repair. That crash even sent Jughead Jones upside down.
Car Keys Mike and General Disarray (#92 Comedy Central) would end up not finishing the race, the only two that did not finish the race at all. George W Bush (#1 Bud), Adam Spencer (#82 Spark Spencer III Inc), and Selachii Ray (#23 Dicks Sporting Goods) would round out the Top 5 in the race.
The next race will be at Bristol Motor Speedway on Thursday, August 15th. All of the cars will look to avenge the previous race. For Johnson Carlson, it has to be just more of the same.
